Issue 2: Memories

Colleen Anderson (author and owner of Mother Wit and Design in Charleston, WV) visited our class and shared some short personal narratives with the creative writing students. Colleen’s examples focused on finding a greater lesson in every day experiences.

After sharing her hand selected stories with us, she encouraged students to draw a map of a personally important place. Some students drew their bedrooms while some drew a relative’s living room. Others drew a favorite playground or park.

The flash fiction narratives below are the products of that exercise, the distillation of those treasured memories.
