To Whom it May Concern,
On March 15, 2017, at approximately 9:00 AM, a miscommunication at the Fort Lauderdale Zoo ended in mass chaos.
It was discovered by zoo officials during a routine lion feeding that there was an apparent miscommunication between the lion food supply carrier and a Red Cross organ donation truck. The zoo officials immediately informed the president of the zoo, but it was far too late. The organs had been eaten, and were unable to be saved (except the intestines, which were not suitable for the lions to eat).
The Red Cross van arrived at approximately 9:40 AM, and the Red Cross workers came to recover the left-over organs.
After investigation, it appears the organ truck ended up at the Fort Lauderdale Zoo, and the Lion food truck ended up at the Fort Lauderdale Hospital.
We here at the Fort Lauderdale Zoo would like to sincerely apologize for the miscommunication. As a result of this chaotic situation, we ask the Red Cross to pay for our next shipment of lion feed.
Also, we apologize for the 936 people who will die because our lions ate the organs they needed.
Sincerely,
Mike Robertson (Zoo President)
