Hi everyone, I am so happy that so many people could turn up for this special day. For those of you that don’t know me I am Victoria Smith, not only am I one of the bridesmaids but also the bride’s little sister. Of course, I use the term “little” in sister terms but in overall size, I am the big sister. Today is a very important day for everyone in both of our families, today we all come together to be with the people we love to celebrate the marriage of two people we each know or love very much. When I woke up this morning I had a very hard time believing that today was the day in which my one and only sister would be getting married. It seems like only yesterday me and Courtney were snuggling Care Bear dolls in our pajamas and watching Drop Dead Fred together. I have known Courtney my entire life, we shared the same room, she gave me her old clothes when they no longer fitted her, and we always loved to watch movies together and say some of our favorite lines from those movies.
I closed my eyes for one second and the next thing I knew when I opened my eyes, my sister was all grown up. When I saw this grown up version of my sister I didn’t frown nor cry, but instead I smiled and marveled. I marveled at what an amazing person she is and how much of an impact she has had on my life and the lives of those around her. She is very loyal and caring, when I was young, around 7 years old, I accidentally swallowed a marble, she made sure that my mom was aware of it and that she brought me to the hospital. She is also very intelligent, I mean if I had a dollar for every A she had gotten on her report cards I could’ve afforded to pay for this wedding myself. She has a strong sense of style from prom dresses to the beautiful gowns you see the bridesmaids and the bride herself wearing right now, she is also gorgeous both inside and out. I was very nervous about Courtney dating at first because I didn’t want her to get hurt, but after getting to know Collin and seeing what a great guy he is and how much he loves my sister, I am more than proud to call him my brother in law.
As our worlds grow and our families expand I will be more than happy to know Courtney and Collin will be there together to help me laugh, be smart, stay true to myself, and just be there for us. Congratulations Mr./Mrs. Courtney and Collin Donadieu, I love you guys. May your journey be as wonderful as you two are.
