I woke up. I picked up the stuffie next to me and threw it out my crib.
“Ugh, Ashley.” mom got out of the chair and picked up the stuffie. She put it in the toy chest.
“Come here” she lifted me up and took me to the Living Room.
“Ok your family will be here soon” Then she set me into my play pen. I started to bang the red key on my toy.
“No!” I looked at mommy. And banged it again. I giggled. She turned around and took the toy. I started to cry. She walked away and opened the door.
Daddy looked over at me,“Why is she crying?”
“I took that damned toy away.” Dad smiled and picked me up.
“Wow you’re getting heavy.” I giggled
“Happy second birthday Ashley.” Daddy kissed my head and sat me back down.
Grandma, Grandpa, and others came in a little latter. We had cake. Mommy took loads of pictures like usual. I was getting tired, so mommy opened my presents for me. I woke up in the late afternoon. I looked over and saw my pile of presents.
“I know Mom, another baby is hard work.”
“You should have learned from last time. Damn it Tiffany.”
“Hey sis, do you know what condoms are?”
“Cram it Dannie”
“Ugh, Tiffany you woke up the little one.”
“Wow, ya sure mom.” Mommy walked over to me.
“Did you have a good nap Angelface.” I shook my head yes.
“Baby?” I pointed to her belly.
“Yes Angelface, baby” Daddy walked over and took.
“Are you happy?” I shook my head no.
“No baby.” Daddy laughed. He took me and put me into my crib.
“It was a surprise, Ashley. You’ll be happy to have a younger sibling. Trust me.” I closed my eyes and went to bed.
I woke up. I got out of bed and sprinted to the Kitchen. I looked at Mommy and smiled. I looked down at her belly.
“Brother?” Mommy smiled and shook her head.
“Yes, you have a little brother.” I sprinted to the table and hopped on the chair the sat on the table.
“Ashley! Tables are for glasses not asses.” I looked at Mom. I stuck my tongue out and hopped off.
“Go wake up daddy. Breakfast is ready.” I ran to the room and pushed the door open. I jumped on top of him.
“Daddy, Daddy! Wake up.”
“Oof, Get off.” I got off. He tickled me and picked me up by my legs.
We ate breakfast, then mommy dressed me. I was wearing a Dora shirt with a pink skirt. I ran out the room. Daddy picked me up and placed me on the couch. He started velcroing my shoes.
“Are you ready to go to Grammie’s house?” I giggled
“Yes!” Daddy turned on the TV.
“Oh look, Dora!” I sat and watched TV. Grammie walked through the door.
“Alright sweetheart are you ready?” Mom walked over to her and gave her my bag.
“When are you due?”
“Any day now. I can’t wait to see what it is.”
“Bet its a girl.”
“No please. I can’t handle another girl.” I ran over to Grammie.
“Ok we’ll be back.”
“Bye Mommy.” She kissed me on the head.
“Bye Angelface.” Grammie grabbed my hand and led me out the door.
I spent about four hours at Grammie’s house. All I did at was watch Dora, snack, and color. But I was interrupted by a call.
“Yes sweetheart?”
“Mom, come to the hospital quick! She is in labor.”
When we got to the hospital Grammy dropped me off in the playpen and ran through the door. I slid down the log slide. I was in the ball pit when daddy walked up and picked me up.He looked over at the nurse watching the playpen.
“Thank you for watching her.” She nodded and smiled. She winked at me and waved bye.
“Are you ready to meet your little brother?”
Mom buckled me in my car seat. Then she placed Danny in his and buckled him in. He threw the toy car he had in his hand. Mom glared at him. He giggled.
“Sorry Angelface. Daddy wanted to come, and grammie couldn’t watch you. So you’re coming with us to the doctor’s.”
When we got to the doctor’s office, Mom took me into the kid’s Play Zone.
“How old are they?” mom looked at the nurse.
“Abigail is five and Danny is one-and-a-half.” she smiled. The nurse picked me up and placed me in the Play Zone.
“Daniel Emmons?”
“Coming,” Mom and dad walked through the door.
Mom looked like she was crying. Dad was driving. We got home around noon. Danny fell asleep during the ride, so he was in his room taking a nap. I was watching The Rugrats. Grammie walked through the door.
“Hey hunny.”’
“Hey Mom.”
“Where is Kyle?”
“Work”
“The doctor said after looking at him for a couple of days. They say he is showing signs of Autism.”
“That’s sad hunny just take him to the classes. It will get better. Well, I have to go hunny. I have a dentist appointment at 5.”
“Goodbye mom love you.”
“Love you too. Love you Abby.” and she left.
Mom and Dad were arguing in the kitchen. Then Dad packed his stuff and left.
“I’ll be back for my kids!” Mom sat on the couch and cried. I walked over to her. And hugged her.
“Mommy where’s Daddy going?”
“Sweetheart I want you to know something i love you forever and ever Angelface.”
“And ever mommy.” she started to cry.
“And I will always be here for you. I’ll always be your mommy. Me and your dad are not getting along like we used to. And when we are split, nothing will keep me apart from you.” She kissed my cheek and went to her room. I just sat there confused. I cried.
Dad came to get me and Danny in the morning. They didn’t say anything to each other. Mom wouldn’t let go of me.
“Tiffany let her go. I don’t want the cops involved.” She let go and started to cry. Dad buckled me in and strapped Danny in, then we drove off.
“We have lived with Mom for a couple months now.”
“Really?”
“Ya Carrie. We have nowhere else to go.” Carrie left the room in anger. Dad laid back and sat on the couch.
“Wow 6 years old now. You’re growing up too fast.” I giggled. I walked over to the table and grabbed my McDonald’s Barbie. Dad hopped up and walked to the office and shut the door. I walked to the couch and after two attempts i finally made it. I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. I tried to look for Dora but i couldn’t find it. I started to come.
“Awe what’s wrong?” Grandma picked me up. I pointed at the TV.
“No Dora.” She smiled.
“Your getting to old for Dora, and to old for hissy fits.” She placed me on the couch. She put on a TV show called Power-puff Girls and walked into the kitchen. She came back in with Danny in her arms. She placed him in his play-place and walked back to the kitchen.
“Dinners ready!” I slid off the couch and ran to the table. Dad picked me up and put me in the chair.
“Mom i got to go. Love you.” Carrie left. I was eating Mac And Cheese in the shapes of dinosaurs.
“So i met someone.” Grandma looked at Dad.
“Who?”
“Her name is Jessica. I met her on the game I’ve been playing.” Dad looked at me.
“She has a little girl too. She is five, her name is Jasmyn.” I giggled.
“Mommy?” I looked at Grandma.
“No, no mommy.” Grandma looked at dad.
“Ok.” I smiled and hopped out of my chair. I walked to the couch and watched TV.
Dad and Jessica talked for three years and a half we moved to West Virginia. We were living with Jessica’s mom.
Me and Jasmyn sat on the couch and played Patty cake. Jessica and Dad watched us.
“They get along really well.”
“Wait till they are older.” Dad laughed. Danny sat on the floor and played with his cars.
“They are getting old. The funny thing is that their ages are in order.” Lee Anne smiled.
“Abby is ten Jasmyn is nine, and Danny is seven.”
“I think it’s cute.” Dad laughed.
“Ok we are heading out to the bar. Kids behave.”
“We will.”
Jessica and Dad were gone until dark. Then grandma got a phone call. Me and Jasmyn listened.
“Oh he did!”
“Ooh i have to see the ring when you get home. Your Dad will be so happy.” Grandma put down the phone.
“Brent guess what!”
“What hunny?” He called from the office.
“Kyle proposed to Jess!”
“Oh my lord. That’s amazing.” Me and Jasmyn looked at each other and smiled.
