She slid a test into her folder, adding to the overflowing collection of accomplishments. Her peers hated her for this; her continuous success. She hated herself for it. Maybe if she failed, she would gain the encouraging words she craved. Maybe if she falls into a downward spiral, only to pick herself back up, she will hear those irritatingly rare words. The simple four letter sentence everyone else seems to be familiar with. Maybe then she will understand what all of the painstaking nights of work are worth. After all, perfection is the key to a better life, isn’t it?
